Membership Policy
MPN
members are defined as any single person over the age of 40 or any
married person who was a previous MPN member and their spouse who has
expressed a desire to join the group and provides contact information
You can join MPN at any time and bring a guest to any event which does not have a limited number of tickets available.
No Sscents/ Smoking Policy
There
are people who have allergies or sensitivities to some scents. To make
MPN as accommodating as possible to as many people as possible a new
scents policy has been adopted. All persons attending an MPN activity
or event are advised not to wear perfume, scented deodorant, scented
aftershave or scented hairspray. Any person at an MPN activity or event
can be asked to wash off any scent or if that is not practical, the
person can be asked to leave the MPN activity or event. >No
scented product will be tolerated at an MPN activity or event such as
scented candles. Items can be removed from the location at any indoor
MPN activity or event. There will be no smoking at any indoor MPN
activity or event and only at designated areas for outdoor MPN
activities or events.
There
are people who have allergies to hair, fur or feathers. To make MPN as
accommodating as possible to as many people as possible, a no pet
policy has been adopted. All people attending an MPN activity or event
are advised not to bring any pets or animals. Any person who brings an
animal to an MPN activity or event will be asked to leave and only
return when the animal has been removed from the activity or event.
Certain events will involve animals i.e. sleigh rides, and members will
be made aware that certain animals will be at the event and they can
decide whether or not to attend the event or activity.
Liability Waiver Policy
There is a general liability wavier or warning available for all people
attending an MPN activity or event. The MPN general liability waiver
states: All MPN activities are for the enjoyment of members, but we
are not responsible for risks, injuries, and loss of property or damage
to property. People
taking part in an MPN activity or event that have a greater risk such
as canoeing must sign a specific liability waiver. Other activities
such as rafting have its own waiver to be signed and are organized by
another body other than MPN

MPN Travel Club
We have decided to form an MPN
travel club. Reay Wallace from Freedom Travel came and spoke to us about
the idea of a travel club. It is basically a way of saving money for
travel. We will set up an account and you can contribute as you like. If
perchance you decide you can't go on the trip, well the money is yours
to do with as you please. Murielle and Jane will look after the
account. Jane will be there and you can sign up on Friday night. It's a
good way to get started on saving for a trip south with the group.
On
another note, on Friday nights maybe you could introduce yourself to
Molly PeaNut. She is a little MPNer that we can take on our travels to
all corners of the world. So if you are going on a trip, see one of us
and sign Molly out to take along with you. It'll be fun to see all the
places she'll end up and what kind of fun she's going to have

Message from Greeter Coordinator
I think
we are all in agreement about the importance of a friendly greeting for
newcomers to our group. The two greeters appointed for the Friday night
socials are responsible for: providing name tags to all who arrive,
getting everyone to sign the guest book, introducing new members to the
group, (its purpose, rules and activities), informing them of the
newsletters, asking if they care to provide contact information to be on
the list of members, providing them with our business card and helping
to insure their comfort level. The greeters are also responsible for the
50/50 draw. In the past all members were asked to commit to a month of
Friday night greeting but recently this has been changed to a commitment
of *only one night*. The greeters need to arrive between at 6 and to
stay until the fifty/ fifty draw is complete. They will get a bag
containing necessary items from the bartender and set up at the table
closest to the entryway. All monies remaining from the draw (after the
winner has received their share) are to be given to the Treasurer,
Wendy; Noella; or any of the membership of the Volunteer Committee. The
bag is returned to the bartender after the draw is completed.
Could
anyone who is interested in being a greeter for the Friday night
socials please contact any member of the Volunteer Committee suggesting
what night or nights they are available?* You can greet with a friend
if they are available. If you are already signed up ( the sheet is the
last page in the sign in book) please let me know in advance if you are
not able to fulfill your commitment. The names of the two greeters
scheduled each week will be included from now on in our weekly
newsletter as a reminder.
Greeting
provides not only an invaluable service to our group but is also a
great way to get to know everyone. We would like to take this
opportunity to thank all those who have given their time and energy to
this task in the past( with a special thank you to those who have
pitched in at the last minute) and to sincerely hope we can count on
your friendly services in the future.
